Performer(s): Disposable Thumbs
Album: False Friends
Their description: Fuzzed-out guitars, drum machines, snappy synths, and homemade oscillators. A pop-infused fury of whirs, clicks and choice guitar licks!
My review: Okay, the cover is nothing to write home about, but the name? The band name? Genius! I can see these guys sitting on torn-up vinyl booths around a dirty, carved-up table in some terrible/wonderful dive bar, drinking and drinking and trying to come up with the name of their band, until the drummer stumbled back from the bar with 2 more pitchers of PBR and slurred out that he could only carry the pitchers thanks to his disposable thumbs and the rest is joyous drunken guy history. This is my new favorite band.
Greatest hits:
- The Jamaica Plain Homeowners Association (what?)
- Bloody Murder
- Manatee Season (great!)
